  • Timothy Veith Joins Bank as Chief Lending Officer

    WASHINGTON, Oct. 6, 2009 - Bank of Georgetown has hired Tim Veith as chief lending officer to oversee the commercial loan portfolio and to supervise the bank’s lending team.

     “Tim is a valuable addition to our team,” said Bank of Georgetown President and CEO Mike Fitzgerald. “He has an impressive background in banking and management and will contribute skills in portfolio management, business development and strategic planning to support the bank’s continued growth and success.”

     As the chief lending officer at the bank’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., Veith will manage and support all lending officers and develop and monitor client relationships.

     “I’m excited to have this opportunity to work with a strong community bank that is well-positioned to support economic development through banking relationships,” Veith said. “Bank of Georgetown has an excellent loan portfolio, and I am eager to work with business owners and organizations to support their business development goals.”

     Veith has more than 20 years of management experience and most recently worked with Branch Banking and Trust (BB&T) Company in Washington, D.C., as a senior vice president, regional banking manager and area executive. Prior to that, he served as president and CEO of Equitable Bank in Wheaton, Md., for 10 years.

     He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from the University of Maryland in College Park, Md. Veith also attended the Graduate School of Community Bank Management at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.
