    Bank of Georgetown Hires William Maguire as Senior Vice President of Branch Administration

    WASHINGTON, Nov. 3, 2009 — Bank of Georgetown, a leading community bank chartered in Washington, D.C., has hired William Maguire as senior vice president of branch administration.

    “We are delighted that Bill has joined our team,” said Bank of Georgetown president and CEO Mike Fitzgerald. “His extensive background in branch administration and his diversified bank management experience will be a great asset as we continue to expand the growing list of businesses and organizations we work with around the greater Washington area.”

    As senior vice president of branch administration, Maguire will be responsible for overseeing branch operations, staffing and facilities management. He will be based at the bank’s headquarters office in Georgetown.

    Throughout his nearly 40 years of experience in the banking industry, Maguire has developed successful leadership and management skills. He has worked with several banks in the Washington area, including Adams National Bank, Potomac Bank of Virginia and Sequoia Bank.

    Maguire is also an active member of the Washington community, having coached youth basketball and baseball, as well as serving for 25 years as an officer with the Washington Chapter of the University of Scranton Alumni and volunteering for several charitable organizations.  

    He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Scranton in Scranton, Pa. Maguire also has a certification from the American Banker Association’s Commercial Banking School at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., as well as a certification for international banking from the Computerized Item Banking System School of Banking at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
