    Thomas E. Brown

    Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer

    As Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Tom Brown is in charge of developing new systems and technologies to meet the dynamic needs of Bank of Georgetown’s diverse customer base and also oversees all deposit and loan operations throughout the bank.

    A native of Bethesda, Md., Tom Brown has been serving the Greater Washington area banking community for nearly twenty years. His expertise in developing and managing new banking technology and systems has allowed thousands of banking consumers and commercial organizations throughout the region benefit from enhanced productivity and savings delivered through the convenience of electronic banking solutions.

    Mr. Brown’s extensive experience with banking technology and system management is vital in his leadership role with Bank of Georgetown.

    Before joining the bank in 2004, he served as a technology consultant for Mercantile Potomac Bank. In this role, Mr. Brown advised senior management on key technology needs, which led to the implementation of new systems that helped both the bank and its customers increase efficiency and productivity. He also played a proactive role in helping to convert affiliate branches from parent company Mercantile Bancshare.

    Prior to his consulting tenure with Mercantile Potomac Bank, Mr. Brown served as Vice President of Management Information Systems at Sequoia Bank. Some of his responsibilities there included daily transaction processing, internal LAN management, telecom, wide-area contingency planning, and various other aspects of system-related functions.

    Mr. Brown earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Finance from Mount Saint Mary’s University.
